About this course

International business management addresses the specific challenges and opportunities that arise when organisations operate across national borders. Global supply chains, foreign direct investment, cross-cultural management, international trade law, currency risk, and the political economy of different markets are all dimensions of business that domestic management education alone cannot adequately prepare you for. This programme recognises that most significant commercial activity today is international in scope.

At the University of Gloucestershire, this four-year full-time programme includes a placement year, which is a distinctive and valuable feature. You will be supported by a dedicated placement module tutor, and the Careers and Employability team provides hands-on support with your CV and your communication with prospective placement providers. This means you can approach the placement year with genuine preparation and make the most of a period of professional experience in an international business context.

The programme develops your understanding of global strategy, cross-cultural communication, international marketing, trade, and the management of organisations that span multiple national environments.

The typical entry tariff is 104 UCAS points, and the degree is studied full time over four years.

Graduates from international business management programmes go on to careers in multinational corporations, international trade, export management, management consultancy, banking, logistics, the civil service, and international development. The combination of management competence and international awareness opens doors in organisations of all sizes that operate across borders. Further study options include postgraduate programmes in international business, international management, and MBA qualifications with an international focus.
