MPhys Engineering Physics
About this course
The lightbulb and the mobile phone would not exist without physics or engineering. Engineering Physics MPhys (Hons) successfully combines both subjects. Find out more here. Explore the fundamental laws that underpin our universe and engineer solutions to real-world problems. Our MPhys Engineering Physics degree applies physical principles to engineering and technology, equipping you with the fundamentals of physics and drawing on Loughborough's well-established expertise in engineering to help you engineer solutions to real-world problems. Physics underpins the fundamental laws that govern everything from the smallest particles to the vast universe around us, and serves as the toolkit for modern engineering and the physical sciences. At Loughborough, you will study the foundational principles of physics while developing your problem-solving, experimental, mathematical, and computational skills which are valued in a wide range of workplaces and careers. This degree combines the core physics course with streamed engineering content (selected at the end of Year 1) to ensure a strong development in your chosen engineering specialisation. We offer streams in materials engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical and manufacturing engineering.
