Acting and performance is a discipline concerned with the craft of bringing characters, situations and stories to life for an audience. The programme is three years full time and includes a foundation year for those who need additional preparation before the main degree begins, making it accessible to students who are motivated and talented but may not have followed a conventional pre-entry path. You will develop practical skills in acting for stage and screen, physical performance, vocal production and character work, alongside critical understanding of the wider performance landscape. Showcasing your work is built into the programme, giving you experience of presenting to audiences and developing the professional presence that the industry expects.

Graduates from acting and performance programmes pursue careers across the performing arts: stage, screen, community theatre, applied theatre, physical performance and devised work are all routes open to well-trained performers.
