About this course

Aerospace engineering is one of the most technically demanding and intellectually exciting branches of engineering. It draws on fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, thermodynamics, control theory, propulsion, and materials science to design, build, and operate the aircraft and spacecraft that define the frontier of human achievement in transport, communication, and exploration. As the sector moves towards electric propulsion, unmanned systems, and sustainable aviation, the engineering challenges are evolving rapidly and the demand for well-trained aerospace engineers is growing accordingly.

At Brunel University London, this MEng degree is an integrated master's programme that runs across five years and is integrated with a placement year. The placement year gives you direct professional experience in the aerospace industry or a related engineering sector before you complete your studies, which is a significant advantage in a competitive graduate market where professional experience is highly valued. Many go on to become Chartered Engineers through the relevant professional bodies. Others continue to postgraduate research in specialised areas of aerospace or related engineering disciplines, and some move into management, consultancy, or technology roles that draw on their engineering foundations.
