About this course

Aerospace engineering is the branch of engineering concerned with the design, development, testing, and production of aircraft, spacecraft, and related systems. It encompasses aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, avionics, and systems integration, demanding the application of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineering principles in environments where performance, weight, reliability, and safety margins are tested to their limits. Aerospace engineers work on some of the most technically demanding projects in any field, from commercial airliners and military jets to satellites and spacecraft.

At Teesside University, this full-time, four-year degree includes a sandwich year and work placement, ensuring that substantial industry experience is integrated into your studies. The programme takes a collaborative and team-based approach to engineering learning, reflecting the reality that aerospace projects are always delivered by multi-disciplinary teams.
