Animal Science

Animal science with a focus on livestock technology addresses the science and management of the farm animals on which global food production depends. At Anglia Ruskin University, this three-year full-time programme develops your understanding of the science underpinning livestock production alongside the technological and management dimensions of the industry. You will study animal physiology and nutrition, genetics and selective breeding, reproductive technologies, disease management, and the use of digital and precision agriculture tools in livestock systems. The course also engages with the wider context of livestock farming, including its environmental impact, the economic pressures facing producers, and the regulatory and welfare frameworks that govern the industry.

Practical work is central to the programme, and you will develop hands-on skills in animal handling and management techniques.
