Applied Zoology

Zoology is the scientific study of animals, encompassing their biology, behaviour, ecology, and evolution. Applied zoology takes that foundation and directs it towards the practical challenges of managing animal populations, conserving species, improving animal welfare, and understanding how animals interact with their environments in contexts shaped by human activity. At Harper Adams University, this four-year full-time degree gives you a thorough grounding in the biology and behaviour of a wide range of animal species, from invertebrates to large mammals, alongside training in the applied skills needed to work effectively in zoological, conservation, and animal management contexts.
