About this course

Biochemistry studies the molecular basis of life, examining the chemical processes and compounds that enable living cells to function, grow, and respond to their environments. Medical biochemistry focuses this inquiry specifically on human health and disease, asking how molecular mechanisms go wrong in conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and genetic disorders, and how understanding those mechanisms opens routes to new treatments and diagnostics.
