About this course

Biomaterials and tissue engineering is a field that sits at one of the most consequential frontiers of modern science and medicine, concerned with creating materials and constructs that can interact with, repair, or replace biological tissue in the human body. As the global burden of chronic disease and trauma increases and the limits of conventional medicine become clearer, the potential of biomaterials and tissue engineering to transform clinical outcomes has never been more apparent.

At Imperial College London, this four-year, full-time degree develops deep expertise in the materials science and engineering foundations of the field alongside the biological knowledge needed to understand how materials interact with living systems.
