About this course

Biomedical Engineering is a dynamic, multidisciplinary field linking engineering and medicine to improve health and quality of life. The foundation year builds your maths, science and practical skills, preparing you to progress onto the BEng degree. We are ranked number one overall in the subject of bioengineering, medical and biomedical engineering, and for teaching on my course and learning opportunities (National Student Survey 2025). Ranked second in the UK for biomedical engineering (general engineering category), according to the Guardian University Guide 2026.
