About this course

Biomedical science is the application of scientific principles and methods to the understanding of human health and disease, and to the laboratory investigation that underpins clinical diagnosis and treatment. It encompasses biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, immunology, pharmacology, and the molecular and cellular mechanisms of disease, providing the scientific foundation on which medicine and healthcare depend. Biomedical scientists work in NHS laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and research institutions, applying their knowledge to the detection, diagnosis, and monitoring of disease.

At Robert Gordon University, this four-year full-time programme gives you exposure to a broad variety of subjects across the biomedical sciences, preparing you for work across medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
