About this course

Biomedical sciences explore the biological processes that underlie human health and disease. Drawing on cell biology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry, immunology and pathology, the discipline asks why the body functions as it does and what goes wrong when illness occurs. It occupies the territory between basic biological science and clinical medicine, and it underpins the development of new diagnostics, therapies and medicines.
