About this course

Build your understanding of key aspects of biomedical science and disease pathology, with access to facilities used by the NHS and the option to select modules. BSc (Hons) or MSci (Hons) — 2026 entry Biomedical Science Open up career opportunities from drug development to diagnosing diseases, public health to graduate-entry medicine, with our IBMS-accredited Biomedical Science degree. On this highly practical course, you’ll combine lab work and analytical skills with communication and data science.

On our Biomedical Science course, you’ll study physiology, pharmacology and pathology, learning techniques to help diagnose infectious diseases, model outbreaks, understand the genetic basis for cancer, and more. By putting human life under the microscope, you’ll discover how to help improve health, individually and as a society. Our course has been accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) for over 20 years, ensuring you can graduate with the knowledge and skills you need to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and become a biomedical scientist.
