Broadcast and Multimedia Journalism with a Placement Year
Broadcast and multimedia journalism is a discipline concerned with finding, verifying and communicating news across television, radio, online video and digital platforms. It combines the core journalistic skills of reporting, writing, interviewing and editorial judgment with the technical and production skills specific to broadcast media: camera operation, editing, sound recording, live reporting and the management of news across multiple platforms simultaneously. At the University of East Anglia, this four-year full-time degree includes a placement year, giving you extended professional experience within a working newsroom or broadcast organisation before you complete your studies. You will develop the full range of journalistic skills, from finding and verifying stories through to packaging them for different broadcast and digital formats, learning how to navigate the legal and ethical frameworks that govern responsible journalism.
