About this course

Business analytics sits at the intersection of management science, data analysis and strategic decision-making. It is concerned with how organisations collect, process and interpret data to inform better decisions, improve performance and respond to changing environments. As businesses in every sector accumulate more data and face increasing competitive and operational complexity, the ability to extract actionable insight from data has become one of the most valued capabilities in the labour market.

Combining analytics with management gives graduates both the quantitative toolkit and the business acumen to apply it effectively.

At the University of East Anglia, this programme spans four years and includes a year abroad, which gives you the opportunity to study at an international partner institution and develop the global perspective that is increasingly relevant in business careers. You will study statistical methods, data management, business intelligence tools, predictive modelling, operations research and the principles of management including strategy, marketing, organisational behaviour and finance. The analytics strand equips you with the technical skills to work with large and complex datasets, while the management content ensures you can situate data-driven insight within the broader context of organisational decision-making.

The typical entry tariff is 120 UCAS points.

Graduates move into roles in data analysis, business intelligence, management consultancy, operations, supply chain management, financial analysis, marketing analytics and strategy across a wide range of industries. Technology companies, financial services, retail, healthcare, logistics, government and professional services organisations all recruit graduates with business analytics skills. Many graduates also continue to postgraduate study in data science, business administration or applied statistics.

The year abroad adds an international dimension to your profile that many employers value.

Highly recommend
This is the perfect place to study this subject. The best part: the careers office is relentless about getting you internships. If I'm honest, some seminar groups were too big for meaningful discussion. On the city β€” local cost of living is…

A great decision
The programme genuinely lives up to its reputation. The best part: the consulting projects with real companies genuinely prepare you for the working world. If I'm honest, a few modules feel under-resourced compared to the flagship ones. On …
