About this course

Business and management is a broad and practically oriented discipline that prepares you to understand, contribute to, and lead organisations across the full range of sectors and sizes. It encompasses strategy, marketing, operations, finance, human resource management, and organisational behaviour, giving you both the knowledge of how businesses function and the analytical and interpersonal skills to operate effectively within them. The discipline also engages with the wider economic, social, and regulatory environment in which organisations exist, developing graduates who can think about business not just from the inside but in its broader context.

At Wrexham University this programme includes a foundation year and a sandwich year as well as work placement experience, giving you a supported entry into degree-level study and significant professional development built into the course itself. You will develop both academic understanding and practical capability, with the foundation year providing the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in the main degree, and the sandwich year and placements connecting your learning to real business environments. The course is designed for the diverse and fast-changing conditions of contemporary business, preparing you to adapt as well as to perform in established roles.

Business and management graduates work in an enormous range of organisations and roles, including marketing, sales, operations, human resources, project management, finance, consultancy, and general management. The breadth of the qualification means that graduates are adaptable and can move between different industries and functions across their careers. The work placement experience built into this programme gives you direct professional exposure before graduation, which is a significant advantage in the job market.

Further study at postgraduate level in business administration, management, marketing, finance, or a related specialist discipline is available for those seeking more senior roles or a deeper specialism.
