At Brunel, this three-year full-time programme includes an integrated foundation year, which prepares you for undergraduate-level study by building core knowledge and academic skills before you move into the more specialist content of the degree. You will learn how to evaluate systems from a user perspective, applying methods drawn from cognitive psychology, design theory, and usability research to understand where systems succeed or fail. Alongside this, you will develop a practical understanding of how information systems are built and how organisations deploy them, giving you the ability to move between technical and human-centred perspectives on the same problem.

The programme integrates theory and applied practice, with projects grounded in realistic business scenarios.

Graduates with expertise in Human-Computer Interaction are sought after by technology companies, consultancies, public sector bodies, and any organisation that depends on well-designed digital services. Typical roles include user experience designer, UX researcher, interaction designer, and product manager, as well as business analyst roles where understanding both systems and users is central. The broader business computing training also opens routes into IT management, systems analysis, and digital transformation consultancy.
