About this course

Business information technology connects the technical capabilities of information systems with the commercial contexts in which they are used, addressing the growing need for professionals who can work effectively at the boundary of technology and business. Organisations of every kind depend on IT systems, data infrastructure, digital processes and technology-enabled services, and the people who design, implement and manage these systems need to understand both the technology and the organisational and commercial factors that determine whether it creates value.

At the University of Salford, this four-year full-time programme is TechSkills-accredited and includes a sandwich year and a work placement, integrating real-world professional experience directly into the degree. Developed with industry insight, the programme emphasises learning through simulated and live projects, ensuring you can apply theory directly to practice from early in your studies. You will develop expertise in information systems, database design, business analytics, IT project management, digital business, software development, cybersecurity and the application of technology to business processes.
