About this course

Business as a degree subject teaches you to understand how organisations of all kinds function, how they create and deliver value, and how the decisions made by managers, leaders and entrepreneurs shape outcomes for the people who work in them, the customers they serve and the communities around them. It is an applied discipline, concerned not only with theory but with how that theory illuminates real organisational challenges and how analytical tools can be used to make better decisions.

At the University of Lincoln, this three-year full-time programme is part of a university community that is genuinely focused on helping you grow, succeed and make the most of every opportunity. You will study the core areas of business knowledge, including strategy, marketing, finance, operations, human resources and entrepreneurship, developing both the analytical skills and the professional awareness that employers value. A sandwich year gives you extended professional experience in a business context, a year abroad broadens your international perspective, and a work placement provides further hands-on exposure alongside your studies.

The combination of academic learning and direct commercial experience is a significant advantage in the graduate labour market.

A typical entry tariff of 88 points makes the programme accessible to a wide range of students, and the combination of business knowledge, analytical skills and professional experience gives graduates a solid platform for entering the labour market across a broad range of roles and sectors.

Graduates pursue careers in management, marketing, human resources, operations, finance, entrepreneurship and consultancy across organisations of every size and in every sector. Business graduates are consistently among the most employable in the UK, reflecting the fact that every organisation needs people who can manage resources, understand markets and lead teams effectively. Postgraduate study in business administration, management or a specialist management field is a well-established route for those who wish to deepen their expertise.
