About this course

Chemical engineering converts the discoveries of chemistry into the large-scale processes that produce the materials, fuels, pharmaceuticals, food products and industrial chemicals that modern societies depend on. It is an engineering discipline grounded in the sciences of heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and reaction kinetics, applying these principles to the design and optimisation of continuous processes that must function reliably and safely at industrial scale.
