Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is the discipline responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that modern society depends on. Roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, airports, water supply systems, flood defences, hospitals, and sports stadiums are all the work of civil engineers, who apply principles of structural mechanics, geotechnics, hydraulics, and materials science to create built environments that are safe, functional, and durable. At the University of Aberdeen, the BEng in Civil Engineering runs over four years full-time and includes a year abroad, giving you an international perspective on engineering practice and education.
