It is also one of the most alive: the ancient world continues to speak urgently to contemporary politics, ethics, and culture, and the analytical skills it develops, including the close reading of complex texts in two classical languages, the interpretation of visual and material evidence, and the construction of rigorous historical arguments, are genuinely transferable to many professional contexts.
