About this course

Computer science and mathematics are disciplines that have always been deeply intertwined. Mathematics provides the logical and quantitative foundations on which computing is built, from the formal logic underlying programming languages to the algebraic structures behind cryptography and the probability theory driving machine learning. At Royal Holloway, University of London, this three-year, full-time programme allows you to work across both subjects, combining the abstract rigour of mathematical thinking with the practical problem-solving and technical skills of computer science. You will study algorithms, data structures, programming, and software systems alongside pure and applied mathematics, developing a grounding that is genuinely unusual in the graduate labour market.
