About this course

Computer science is the discipline that underpins the digital world: from the algorithms and data structures that determine how programs run efficiently to the systems, networks, and artificial intelligence applications that are reshaping every sector of the economy. A serious computer science education develops both the theoretical foundations, understanding why algorithms work, how computation is formally defined, and what it means for a program to be correct, and the practical programming and systems skills needed to build real software that solves real problems.

At the University of Nottingham, a research-intensive university with a strong computer science department, this four-year programme includes an international year in which you study at one of the university's campuses in China or Malaysia, giving you an international academic and professional perspective that is increasingly valuable in a globally connected technology industry.
