Computer science is the discipline through which human beings have developed the ability to make machines think, solve problems, process information, and control complex systems at speeds and scales that no unaided mind could match. It addresses questions from the theoretical, what can be computed and with what resources, to the intensely practical, how software is built to be correct, efficient, and safe. The discipline underpins modern life across every sector: from cancer research and weather prediction to cybersecurity and space exploration, computer science graduates are central to the solutions.

At Queen's University Belfast this four-year full-time programme teaches you to approach technical problems creatively, giving you both the information and the understanding to find solutions to emerging global challenges. You will develop the practical skills to approach the specification, design, construction, and use of computer systems across the full programme, covering core areas including algorithms, data structures, programming, software engineering, databases, networking, and intelligent systems.
