About this course

Computer science is the study of computation and information, encompassing the theory of algorithms and computational complexity, the design of programming languages and systems, the engineering of reliable software, and the application of computing to problems in every domain of human activity. It is a discipline of remarkable intellectual depth and extraordinary practical importance, underlying the internet, smartphones, artificial intelligence, financial systems, healthcare technology, and much else that defines contemporary life.

At Teesside this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation year that provides a supported entry route for students who need additional preparation in mathematics and computing before advancing to the main degree.
