About this course

Computer science is the discipline that studies the theory and practice of computation, from the mathematical foundations that determine what can and cannot be computed, through the algorithms and data structures that make computation efficient, to the programming languages, systems, and software engineering methods that make complex programs possible. This four-year, full-time programme at Salford includes a foundation year designed to build strong foundations in computer systems and programming before students progress to the full degree.
