Criminology with Foundation Year
Criminology examines crime as a social phenomenon: not merely as a legal category, but as something produced, defined and responded to by societies in particular ways at particular times. It draws on sociology, psychology, law, history and philosophy to ask why crime occurs, how it is measured and understood, how the criminal justice system operates and what effects it has, and what alternatives to punishment might achieve in terms of justice and harm reduction.
