About this course

Cybersecurity with artificial intelligence addresses two of the most consequential technology fields of the current moment, one focused on protecting digital systems, data and infrastructure from attack, and the other on the mathematical and computational methods that allow machines to perform tasks that previously required human intelligence. The two fields are deeply connected: AI techniques are increasingly central to both offensive and defensive cybersecurity, and understanding both together provides a more complete picture of the technical landscape than either alone.

The University of Chester offers this four-year full-time programme, which includes a foundation element that provides essential grounding in the mathematical and computing fundamentals the degree requires. This makes it accessible to students who need additional preparation before the main content begins. The programme covers the core domains of cybersecurity, including network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, digital forensics, secure software development and risk management, alongside the key concepts and techniques of artificial intelligence, including machine learning, data analysis, pattern recognition and the application of AI methods to security problems.
