Czech and Danish

Czech and Danish is a combination that reflects a genuinely cosmopolitan intellectual ambition, bringing together two languages from distinct European linguistic families, Czech from the Slavic group and Danish from the North Germanic, alongside the literary, cultural, historical and political traditions that each language carries. At University College London this four-year full-time BA divides equally between your two languages, with modules covering speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation in both. In your third year you will spend a year abroad split between countries where your two languages are spoken, giving you the immersive linguistic and cultural experience that is essential for genuine fluency and deep understanding of the societies you are studying.

Graduates from Czech and Danish language degrees are well placed for careers where multilingualism and European cultural expertise are valued. Many find roles in translation and interpretation, European organisations, business development and diplomatic services.
