About this course

Digital marketing and business management is a combination that reflects the reality of modern commercial life, where marketing has become inseparable from data, platforms, and digital strategy, and where business success depends on people who understand both the commercial context and the tools that now drive how organisations reach their customers.

At Abertay University this four-year full-time programme combines the analytical and strategic foundations of business management with a deep and practical engagement with digital marketing. You will study consumer behaviour, brand strategy, social media, search engine marketing, content strategy, data analytics, and the technology platforms that underpin digital marketing, alongside business management content covering strategy, finance, operations, and entrepreneurship. The year abroad is built into the degree, giving you an international perspective that is increasingly relevant as digital marketing operates by definition across borders.

Abertay's strength in technology and its connections to Scotland's growing digital and creative economy make it a distinctive environment for this combination. The programme is practical as well as analytical, and you will work on real marketing challenges and build digital skills that are directly applicable in professional roles.

Graduates go on to careers in digital marketing, social media management, brand management, content strategy, marketing analytics, e-commerce, and business development. The combination of digital expertise and business management grounding is valued across almost every sector, from retail and media to financial services and the public sector. Many graduates also continue to postgraduate study in marketing, business, or data analytics.
