About this course

Digital marketing has reshaped how organisations of every kind connect with their audiences, moving from broad broadcast communication to data-driven, targeted, and measurable engagement across search, social media, email, content, and digital advertising channels. The discipline demands both creative skill and analytical rigour: effective digital marketers understand how to craft compelling messages and how to use data to evaluate what is working, who they are reaching, and how to improve performance over time. It is one of the most dynamic and consistently in-demand fields in business.

At Chester this three-year full-time programme gives you practical, hands-on experience of digital marketing from the outset. You will begin building a professional portfolio with real live digital projects from your first year, developing a website and gaining experience in digital marketing practice alongside the marketing fundamentals that provide the conceptual framework for everything else. The curriculum takes you through the major channels and disciplines of digital marketing, including search engine optimisation, paid advertising, social media strategy, content marketing, analytics, and consumer behaviour in digital environments.

A year abroad is built into the programme, giving you the opportunity to study digital marketing in an international context and to broaden your understanding of how markets, platforms, and consumer behaviour vary across different cultures and geographies.

Graduates move into roles in digital marketing management, search and social media marketing, content strategy, e-commerce management, brand management, and marketing analytics. Digital marketing skills are valued across virtually every sector, and the portfolio you build during the programme gives you tangible evidence of your capabilities from the day you graduate. Many graduates also continue to professional certification or postgraduate study in marketing or business.
