Dutch with Management Studies

Dutch is the native language of over 23 million people in the Netherlands and Belgium, and it is also spoken across Suriname, Aruba and parts of the Caribbean. It belongs to the Germanic language family and is closely related to English and German, yet it carries its own distinct literary tradition, cultural history and contemporary identity. Combining Dutch with management studies creates a programme that is practically well targeted: the Netherlands is one of the UK's closest trading partners, home to major multinationals, and a significant hub for European business and logistics.

At UCL, one of the UK's leading universities for language study, this four-year programme develops your command of Dutch to a high level while grounding you in the theory and practice of management. You will study Dutch language and linguistics, the literature and culture of the Low Countries, and the history and society of the Dutch-speaking world. Alongside this, the management component introduces you to organisational behaviour, strategy, marketing, operations and finance, giving you the business literacy to work effectively in commercial and institutional settings where Dutch is used.

UCL's location in London, which hosts a substantial Dutch business community, provides real-world context for your studies. The typical entry tariff is 168 UCAS points.

Graduates work in international business, trade, diplomacy, European institutions, journalism, translation, cultural organisations and the many companies with significant Dutch operations. The Netherlands hosts the European headquarters of numerous global corporations, and graduates with strong Dutch and business knowledge are well placed to pursue careers in that environment. Many also continue to postgraduate study in Dutch studies, European business, translation or management, or enter graduate training programmes in international companies.
