You will develop knowledge of child development theory, early years pedagogy, the statutory frameworks governing early childhood provision in England, safeguarding, and the leadership and communication skills that practitioners need to work effectively with children, families, and professional colleagues. Graduates of early childhood education and care programmes work in nurseries, children's centres, pre-schools, reception classes, and a range of other early years settings.
