Economics

Economics is the study of how individuals, firms, and societies make choices under conditions of scarcity, and of the consequences those choices produce. It is simultaneously a social science, a quantitative discipline, and a framework for thinking about some of the most pressing questions in public life: why some countries are rich and others poor, how labour markets work, what causes financial crises, how trade shapes prosperity, and what governments can and cannot achieve through policy. The discipline develops a distinctive mode of reasoning that is applicable far beyond the classroom.

At Swansea University, the BSc Economics degree provides a strong foundation in modern economic principles and the key issues shaping the global landscape.
