Economics with Econometrics

Economics is the study of how societies allocate scarce resources, how markets form prices, how incentives shape behaviour and how policy can redirect outcomes. At Goldsmiths you will study the core areas of microeconomics and macroeconomics alongside quantitative methods that include probability theory, regression analysis, time-series modelling and the use of statistical software. You will develop the ability to formulate economic questions precisely, identify appropriate data sources, apply the right estimation techniques and interpret results with appropriate scepticism. Goldsmiths brings a distinctive approach to the social sciences, encouraging critical engagement with orthodox frameworks and attention to questions of inequality, power and institutional context.
