Economics and Latin may appear an unlikely combination, but they share a deeper kinship than the pairing initially suggests. Both are disciplines concerned with how humans have organised their collective life, one through the structures and incentives of economic systems, the other through the language and culture of the ancient world that gave Western civilisation many of its foundational ideas about governance, law, rhetoric, and the good life. At the University of Glasgow, this four-year full-time programme gives you a serious grounding in economic theory and method alongside the linguistic and cultural training that Latin requires.
