About this course

Electrical and electronic engineering is the discipline concerned with the design, analysis, and application of systems that generate, transmit, and process electrical signals and power. It spans a remarkably wide range of scales and applications, from power generation and distribution networks to semiconductor devices, communications systems, control engineering, and embedded systems. The discipline is central to modern technology, underpinning everything from renewable energy infrastructure and electric vehicles to medical devices, telecommunications, and the computing systems that pervade daily life.

At Cardiff University, this three-year full-time programme covers the theoretical foundations and practical skills of the discipline, including circuit analysis, electromagnetism, digital electronics, analogue systems, signal processing, power electronics, and the programming and computational tools used in modern engineering design.
