About this course

Electrical and electronic engineering is the branch of engineering concerned with the generation, transmission, and use of electrical energy, and with the design and operation of electronic systems that underpin everything from telecommunications and computing to power grids, transportation, and medical devices. It is a discipline of fundamental importance to the modern world, and one that is at the centre of the transitions towards sustainable energy, automated systems, and smarter infrastructure that are reshaping economies globally.

At the University of Lincoln, this three-year full-time BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is designed to equip you with the skills needed by industry to deliver sustainable solutions. You will develop knowledge across circuits and systems, power electronics, control engineering, digital systems, signal processing, and communications, alongside the mathematical foundations and practical laboratory skills that engineering employers expect. The programme includes a sandwich year and work placement, giving you substantial professional experience in electrical engineering environments before you complete your degree.

This applied experience is central to making the transition from academic study to professional engineering practice as smooth as possible.

Electrical and electronic engineering graduates are in consistent demand across a wide range of sectors. Energy and power systems, telecommunications, automotive and aerospace electronics, defence, semiconductors, robotics, and the rapidly growing renewable energy sector all recruit strongly from this background.
