About this course

Electronic and electrical engineering is one of the foundational engineering disciplines, concerned with the design and development of electrical circuits, electronic devices, power systems, signals, and communications technologies. From the integrated circuits at the heart of every smartphone to the power grids that deliver electricity and the control systems that automate industrial processes, the work of electronic and electrical engineers shapes the technology that defines modern life. At Brunel, this BEng programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to design electronic and electrical systems for the next generation, combining a rigorous technical curriculum with a contemporary approach to the field's most important challenges. The programme includes a foundation year for students who benefit from additional scientific and mathematical preparation before the main degree, and a year abroad, giving you the opportunity to study engineering in an international context. Graduates of electronic and electrical engineering programmes work in telecommunications, power systems, electronics design, automation, aerospace and defence, transport, healthcare technology, and research.
