Event Management with foundation year

Event management is the professional practice of planning, coordinating, and delivering events that achieve specific objectives, whether commercial, cultural, charitable, or corporate. At Coventry University this four-year programme includes a foundation year and builds in a sandwich year, a year abroad, and work placement experience. You will develop skills in event design, project management, marketing and sponsorship, venue management, budgeting, risk assessment, and the legal and health and safety frameworks that govern events in the UK. The course has previously included partnerships with national venues and industry experts, giving you real-world exposure while you study.

The sandwich year allows you to spend an extended period working in the events industry before you graduate, which is one of the most effective ways to build the professional skills and networks that a career in this sector requires.

Graduates in event management work across a wide range of sectors and contexts, including live music and entertainment, corporate events and hospitality, sport, exhibitions and trade shows, charity fundraising, public sector events, and destination management.
