At Teesside University, this part-time programme develops both scientific knowledge and its application in forensic contexts. You will build a grounding in human anatomy and the physiological mechanisms governing the body's major organ systems, developing the ability to apply and evaluate this knowledge in practical and analytical settings. A particular focus is the construction of biological profiles for human identification, including the determination of sex, age at death, stature, and biological affinity from skeletal material.

This is a core skill in forensic anthropology and osteology, and one that draws on a precise understanding of both human biology and the methods used to interpret physical evidence. Laboratory work, computer-aided learning, and interactive activities are all part of how the programme develops your skills.
