Gaelic and business management is a combination that equips you with both a rare and regionally significant linguistic competence and the commercial skills to put it to practical use. Scottish Gaelic is a living language with a distinctive literary and cultural heritage, and graduates who can operate in Gaelic-medium professional environments are in short supply relative to the demand created by the language's growing institutional presence in broadcasting, education, government, and the arts.

At the University of Glasgow, this part-time programme develops your Gaelic language skills from foundational through to advanced levels, engaging with the history, literature, and culture of the Gaelic world alongside the contemporary contexts in which the language is used and promoted. You will study Gaelic culture through the centuries and develop your language skills for contemporary employment opportunities. The business and management strand gives you a rigorous grounding in commercial thinking, covering strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and organisational behaviour.

The programme includes a year abroad, which may involve study in a Gaelic-speaking or Celtic-language community and broadens your cultural and professional perspective.
