At the University of St Andrews, this four-year MA (Hons) programme develops all three languages to a high level of proficiency, combining structured language learning with the study of literature, film, history, and culture in each tradition. You will develop analytical and interpretive skills across all three languages, engaging with primary texts and cultural materials that require both precision and intellectual engagement. A year abroad is built into the degree, giving you the opportunity to spend extended time in an immersive environment that deepens your fluency and your understanding of living cultural contexts in one or more of your languages.
