Global philosophy and worldviews combined with politics is a degree that brings the study of the world's great intellectual and spiritual traditions to bear on the political questions that define contemporary life. Global philosophy and worldviews moves beyond the European canon to engage seriously with African philosophy, Chinese ethics, Hindu thought, Islamic political theory, Jewish existentialism, Buddhist ethics, and the many other traditions that continue to shape how billions of people understand reality, value, and the good life. Politics examines how power is organised, contested, and exercised in human societies, from electoral systems and party competition to international relations, social movements, and policy-making.

Together, they develop graduates who can think across civilisational traditions and engage analytically with the political and ethical challenges of a genuinely diverse world.

The four-year full-time Global Philosophy and Worldviews and Politics programme with Foundation Year at Liverpool Hope University explores these big questions of truth, value, and what it means to be human from a world-spanning perspective. The foundation year supports students who need additional academic preparation before entering the main degree. A sandwich year, year abroad, and work placement options provide professional and international experience within the programme structure, which is particularly valuable for students interested in international organisations, diplomacy, or faith and civil society contexts.

With a typical entry tariff of 88 points, the programme is accessible and intellectually generous in scope. Graduates pursue careers in the civil service, international organisations, NGOs, journalism, education, social research, policy, and the charitable and faith sectors. Many also pursue postgraduate study in philosophy, political theory, religion, international relations, or development studies.
