At the University of Stirling, this four-year, full-time programme develops your Spanish to a high level of proficiency while also giving you a thorough grounding in historical study. You will engage with the history of Britain, Europe, and the wider world alongside the literature, culture, and contemporary life of the Spanish-speaking world, developing both your language skills and your ability to analyse historical change across periods and places. A year abroad is available, giving you the opportunity to live and study in a Spanish-speaking country, deepening your linguistic fluency and your direct experience of the cultures you are studying.

The combination of historical training and Spanish language competence is valued in a range of careers.
