History of art and Italian is a combination that brings together two disciplines with deep and intertwined histories. At Glasgow, this five-year full-time programme combines rigorous art historical training with Italian language and cultural study, developing both critical analytical competency and the linguistic skills to engage with Italian art and culture in their original contexts. The programme includes a sandwich placement year and embedded work placement opportunities, giving you professional experience in arts, cultural, or education settings. A year in Italy is a natural accompaniment to the Italian strand and the year abroad provides exactly this opportunity.
