Immunology

Immunology is the branch of biomedical science concerned with how the body defends itself against infection, disease, and foreign substances. The immune system is extraordinarily complex, involving numerous cell types, molecular signals, and regulatory mechanisms that must balance effective defence against pathogens with the tolerance of the body's own tissues.
