About this course

Information technology is the discipline concerned with how computer systems and networks are designed, built, managed and used to handle and communicate information. It encompasses software applications, operating systems, databases, networking, cybersecurity, data engineering and the increasingly complex digital infrastructure that underpins modern organisations of every kind. At London South Bank University, this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation year, a sandwich year and a work placement, giving you a thorough grounding before the degree proper and substantial professional experience within it.
