International business is the study of commerce and management as they operate across national borders and cultural contexts. Globalisation has made it impossible to understand business without understanding the international forces that shape it: trade regulations and tariffs, geopolitical risk, cross-cultural management challenges, global supply chains, and the strategies firms use to enter and succeed in foreign markets. A degree in international business develops both the analytical frameworks and the practical mindset needed to navigate this complexity.

At the University of Sussex, this four-year full-time programme explores innovative approaches to international management and builds your understanding of how core management processes shape international organisations. You will study the major functional areas of business, including strategy, marketing, finance, and human resources, in a consistently international frame. After completing your second year at Sussex, you have the opportunity to study abroad at one of the university's partner universities before returning for your final year, which adds first-hand international academic experience to your degree and deepens your cultural and intellectual perspective.

A foundation year is available for students who need to build their academic preparation before entering the main programme. The typical entry tariff is 120 UCAS points.

Graduates of international business programmes pursue careers across a wide range of sectors and geographies. Global marketing, international trade, business development, management consultancy, finance in multinational firms, supply chain management, and international human resources are all common destinations.
